Tsavo West National park
Tsavo National Park, ‘The land of lava, springs and man-eaters,’ is a beautiful, rugged wilderness and home of wide range of African wildlife species including the big five with the largest population of red-skinned elephants; and other mammals and birds to see.
Spectacular Mzima springs where millions of gallons of crystal-clear water gash out of under parched lava rock forming the most welcoming lovely scenery in Africa.
The park also covers the land of man-eater lions (two maneless lions) which attacked and killed as many as 135 Indian and African rail workers halting the construction of the Uganda railway in 1898.
The two lions were hunt and eventually shot dead by LT. Col. John Henry Patterson but the legend still lives on.
Other more interesting attractions are Shetani lava flow (recent volcano) and caves, Ngulia National Sanctuary for endangered black rhino and more others.
Savanna ecosystem comprises of open grasslands, scrubland and acacia woodland, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges including the poachers’ lookout where visitors can see the teaming herds in the plains below.
Tsavo East National Park
Tsavo East National Park is one of the oldest park (1948) and forms the largest
protected are in Kenya and is a home to most the larger mammals, vast herd of red-dust Elephants, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion, Leopards, Ponds of hippos, crocodile, waterbucks and more others.
Yatta plateau, the world’s longest lava flow covering around 300km and Lugards Falls on the Galana River giving a very incredible scenery.
Other interesting attractions includes; beautiful Aruba Dam located at the northern bank of Voi River, Mudanda whale-backed rock towers above a natural dam which attracts a great number of elephants and many more attractions that you can never wish to miss out.
Our safari tour gives you an unforgettable opportunity to view African wildlife and explore the awesome scenery of the Tsavo West Mzima Springs and Rhino Sanctuary and in Tsavo East National Park including Yatta Plateau, Lugard’s Falls, Mudanda Rock and Aruba Dam.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Nairobi – Tsavo West National Park (250 km/ 4 hrs to Mtito Andei)
Pick up from Nairobi city hotel/ residence/ airport at 7.30 am and at around 8.00a.m depart for Tsavo West National Park via Nairobi- Mombasa road with an opportunity to enjoy interesting views en route. We arrive Tsavo West in time of lunch at our lodge; have our lunch meal and rest for a while.
Thereafter, will take an evening game drive to witness and enjoy incredibly fascinating ecosystem of the Tsavo West National Park.
The game drive aiming to sport the Tsavo big five and other wild mammals including Giraffe, Dikdik, Zebras, Nocturnal Porcupine, birds and other more. Back to the lodge/camp/tent for dinner and overnight. Main destination:
Tsavo West National Park.

Day 2: Tsavo west national park – Tsavo east national park
After an early breakfast, set off for early morning game viewing drive at the Tsavo West National Park with a scheduled visit to the Mzima Springs.
After which/ that will proceed to game spotting and great scenery viewing en route and lunch either in Tsavo West or Tsavo East Park. After lunch, afternoon game viewing drive will continue till the end of the day. Back to Tsavo East Safari Lodge/ camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Tsavo East- Nairobi City
Wake up with early game viewing drive till around 10:00a.m which will include view of vast herd of Red- dust Elephant, Rhino, Lions and other members of big five and other mammals with an optional visit to the Lugard’s Falls on the Galana River enjoying an incredible scenery of the Yatta Plateau.
After that will head back to the lodge/ camp, check out with a full breakfast and then depart back to Nairobi City with lunch en route.
Arrive Nairobi City evening, drop off to Nairobi City Hotel/ Residence/ Airport to end the tour.
